How to charge a phone without a charger?

I lost my phone charger, and it’s going to be about a week before i get a new one. I LOVE my Cell Phone and i can’t live without it, especially since i’m 14. is there ANY possible way to charge it without the charger? and why won’t it charge when i plug it into the computer, does it have to be on?
